This is your first solo show. Did you have any trepidations about being onstage by yourself?
When I first started working on “My Broken Brain,” it was a couple of years ago. I started doing stand-up comedy. It will get all the goosebumps out of the way. The first time I did stand-up comedy, it was a crazy experience. I did an open mic night. Right before I did my set, they announced that a regular open mic attendee had committed suicide. People just started screaming, crying and running out. I actually had to go up afterward. It turned out not to be so bad. After getting that stuff out of the way, I look forward to performing “My Broken Brain.” This is something that I can control.
Do you have any shows that you hope to catch at the New York International Fringe Festival?
Yeah, I was just looking at the reviews for “RICHARD 3.” That sounded really cool. It’s like a punk version of “Richard III.” I also really enjoy the work of Seth Barrish. I am looking forward to seeing the play, “Running.”
Do you have any “New York” stories?
A man walks around Times Square with a cat on his head. I asked people around me what the guy did for a living. I'm pretty sure he just does that. I'm still trying to find a college that has a cat-on-head walking course. No luck yet.
